Extra Credit

As you may know, the State Fair is featuring a Hollywood theme this year. You may blog a one page report on what you learn from this exhibit for extra-credit.

How many teachers like you enough to give you extra credit for having fun? I know, I know, AI rocks!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hollywood at the fair, was rather interesting on some aspects, but in all honest truths, I think I was a bit more disappointed. When I heard first that the state fair was going to have a Hollywood theme, I was dying to go, but with going there today, I don’t think their was much excitement about this Hollywood theme.

I think what disappointed me, was that there really wasn’t much to see, unless being the finishing weekend, meant a lot of things were already out the door and heading out. Though what really was cool all the different back drops that were set up. A couple of them looked like they were ripped directly from their original set, and a couple others looked as if they were made virtually over night.

Though I must say the most thrilling thing to see was in fact the cars. Especially the Delorian used in Back to the future, and of course Herby the love bug, since I grew up watching and loving those movies. There were also several other car’s there, that were older which was pretty neat.

As for the green screen effects, the only one I saw was the news 10 weather booth, where people got to pretend to tell the weather for a brief photo, though it was also amusing to see anyone who wore the same color shirt as the wall behind them, how bits and pieces of their shirt would be eaten into the computerized image.

That was basically it, unless somehow Will and I missed something as we went through, or things had left before we even got there.

Making Friends
A troubled preteen is bullying his peers and finds one poor victim in his class to torture permanently!

Making Friends is a great story of a child who comes from a broken home and learns to
overcome the issues of trust and true friendship as well as forgiveness. The target market will
adhere to all children from ages 10 to 15. Starting to put the program out to schools will give
other children hope as they are not alone. Also promoting on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network,
and PBS will also give great information to those children who are homeschooled. We will also
be able to put up information about the program and bullying online. Using links from other
websites (such as nick.com, disneyfamily.com, and stumbleupon.com) to link to the Making
Friends website, parents will be able to be able to have full access to any and all materials that
they may feel necessary to have for their children. This will also be a great learning tool for
youth groups.

Parents as well as teachers alike will find this a great teaching tool for their preteens as well as
early teens and give them the knowledge to face their peers and how to cope with those
situations if it may come up. This will also give select few children who may just be that one
bully a new outlook on the other end.

Hollywood has hit Sacramento at the fair grounds. It was ok they put up set for the theme
Like a Sex in the City, Star Wars, and a lot more. What I got from this fair was not much but I did learn how to put up a fake set in hours. I did not see anyone from class, me and Angy where there all day and night. The green screen was ok to, the school was to be there and have a green screen since this is an art school. The news 10 was there to they had a green screen and all ages could act like they are telling the weather it was cool I think.
